Roger Federer spends FOUR HOURS a day watching Winter Olympics | Tennis | Sport

has been following his Swiss compatriots this month at PyeongChang 2018.

The tennis star, an olympic gold medalist from 2008, has been regularly tweeting Switzerland’s medalists at the Games in South Korea.

And a newspaper in Switzerland claims he the 36-yea-old is making sure not to miss any of the action.

According to Neue Zurcher Zeitung, Federer spends an incredible four hours each day watching the Olympics.

However, he does not watch the footage live – only the highlights each day.

How Federer manages to crowbar in four hours of TV watching alongside his training and matches is impressive.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion was yesterday crowned the new men’s world No 1 in tennis.

And he said he has been following Swiss cross-country skier Dario Cologna, who won 15km gold yesterday.

“What Dario Cologna and the others are doing is so tough, the intensity is so extreme unlike this game I’m doing here,” he said.

“When I see her win, I almost start crying, that’s how impressed I am.

“And I think ‘Ai-ai-ai, luckily I have tennis as my sport’.

Federer is said to have texted Cologna to offer the skier his congratulations.

Federer faces Andreas Seppi in the semi-finals of the Rotterdam Open today (6.30pm) and you can follow the whole match LIVE with Express Sport.

He will be officially named the world No 1 on Monday when the new rankings come out.

As for the , Switzerland sit 10th in the medals table with seven to their name.

Team GB today added three medals to their haul, as Lizzy Yarnold and Laura Deas won gold and bronze respectively in the skeleton, while Izzy Atkin bagged a gold in the slopestyle final.
