UA men’s tennis continues historic season with another shutout

TULSA, Okla. – The Alabama men’s tennis team continued its stellar start to the season with a 4-0 shutout win against Tulsa on Sunday afternoon inside the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Crimson Tide (9-0) is just two victories shy of tying the best start in program history, when the Tide began the 2003 season at 11-0.

“Fantastic job by the guys from start to finish,” said head coach George Husack. “They continue to make big strides with their on-court maturity, belief in one another and their grit. They were calm even when down in doubles and then raised their level and built momentum in singles. I’m really impressed with their resiliency and determination.

Alabama men’s tennis returns back home for three matches next weekend inside the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Indoor Tennis Facility. The Tide will take on Pepperdine on Feb. 9, before playing in a doubleheader on Feb. 11 against San Diego State (1 p.m.) and Lipscomb (6 p.m.).
