Double injury boost
Leicester City boss Claude Puel has been talking ahead of the sides clash with Bournemouth this weekend and has some big news.
That news comes in the form of one big player potentially returning to the team this weekend.
That player is Shinji Okazaki and the Japan international has been sorely missed by Leicester over the past month or so.
The Foxes have not won a game in their last four at the forward would no doubt be a very welcome boost.
Though, while it’s good news for now, Puel has confirmed that they will still have to wait and see if he is ready to face Bournemouth.
Puel also confirmed that there are no other injury problems.
‘He came back this week with the squad and we will see tomorrow if he can come into the (matchday) squad for the next game or not,’ Claude Puel explained in his press conference on Thursday.
‘I will see if he is match fit or not… there are no other injuries.’
Puel was also making sure what his side knows what needs to be done if they are to put this form behind them.
The Frenchman has also claimed that the side need more consistency.
‘A lot of teams come here with a strong defensive unit. We need to put them under pressure with good intensity,’ Puel said.
‘We’ve lost some important points.
‘We had a good month in January but it was more difficult in February… We need more consistency.’
Shinji Okazaki rejoined the group this week following his recovery from a knee injury. “We will see tomorrow if he can come in the squad for the next game. I will see if he is fit for the match.” #LCFC
