First Everton, then Man United
Liverpool fans don’t like referee Craig Pawson.
Pawson has been involved in several high profile decisions this season, and that’s worked out badly for Liverpool.
In the first Merseyside derby of the season, Everton claimed a draw at Anfield thanks to a Wayne Rooney penalty.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin won the Everton penalty in a highly debatable incident with Dejan Lovren, while it was ref Pawson who pointed to the spot.

A few weeks ago, Pawson was again in action as Liverpool lost 2-1 away at Man United.
Liverpool felt they should have had a penalty after the break when a cross from the left was stopped by Antonio Valencia’s hand in the United box. Pawson, however, did nothing.

Conspiracy theory: Dejan Lovren vs Craig Pawson
This weekend Liverpool centre-half has given a brand new interview to the Sunday Times.
In it, Lovren has opened up about ref Pawson, and the Liverpool defender has aired his conspiracy theory:
Life has taught me there are worse things . . . but against Everton [after their controversial penalty earned a draw at Anfield] I took a bottle and smashed it against the wall. Same ref, similar decisions [in the United defeat]. Football should be fair…
Lovren on being subbed vs Tottenham
Another topic of discussion was Lovren’s reaction to Liverpool’s 4-1 defeat at Spurs earlier this season.
Lovren was singled out in that game, as Jurgen Klopp subbed him out the match after a couple of bad errors in the first half.
The Liverpool defender admitted that he didn’t react well to Klopp’s substitution:
Walking off was s***. I’d never been in that situation. I was so close to kicking all the bottles over [at pitch-side]. But then I saw all the faces looking at me and said, ‘Nah, I’m still a gentleman.’
I was fuming (with Klopp for subbing me). But after we spoke. It took a couple of days then he invited me into his room. I wanted answers but he said positive things. He said, ‘If you just think about yourself like I think about you, you will be one of the best players in the world.’
