Kroos
Manchester United are targeting Toni Kroos according to the Independent and it seems that Jose Mourinho has made the midfielder his top target come the summer.
Their midfield has struggled at times, and many people have noted they need a central midfielder who can command play and let the likes of Paul Pogba move forward and help Nemanja Matic at the back as well – and it seems Kroos could well be on his way to Manchester.
However, the club know that they can’t rely on Real Madrid and getting their top choice, and Mourinho has asked the board to put four other contingency plans in place – with Jorginho of Napoli, BVB star Julian Weigl, Carlos Soler who currently plays for Valencia and Shakhtar’s Fred leading the way.
Pogba
The question of if Paul Pogba will be at the club come next season would have sounded like a crazy one come the start of the season – but after falling down the pecking order and being dropped for key games, not to mention seeing Jose Mourinho publicly criticise him and the club allegedly offer him to Manchester City last January, it’s not such a long shot now.
Real would be one of the possible destinations for Pogba, which would of course make a player plus cash swap deal for Toni Kroos easier should both players be interested in the move – though quite if Zidane would allow a player of such stature leave for Pogba who has seriously struggled at times remains to be seen.
