It’s early in the season, but two-way Japanese star Shohei Ohtani, who has excelled as a pitcher and designated hitter for the Los Angeles Angels, already has a baseball card that could be exchanged for up to $60,000.
On Wednesday, Bowman will release its 2018 baseball cards, which will include a rare Ohtani Superfractor autographed card. BlowoutCards.com is prepared to pay $60,000 for the Ohtani card — given that it stays in mint condition (officially assessed by Beckett Grading Services) and is delivered to Blowout offices by May 11.
Blowout co-owner Thomas Fish said on the company’s website that he has fielded a number of calls from international buyers who are willing to pay big money for the one-of-a-kind trading card.
Through a statement on its website, Blowout further explained why it’s willing to shell out so much money, pointing to Ohtani’s great start and career potential.

“Why the offer?” the statement read. “Blowout is sold on the Los Angeles Angels’ two-way phenom from Japan who’s 2-1 with a 3.60 ERA and 19 Ks in 15 innings pitched so far — and the star who’s hitting .333 with three homers and 11 RBI in just 11 games this season at the plate.”
