ASHLAND – Two American qualifiers played their way Saturday into the final in the main draw of the Braidy Industries $60,000 Women’s Tennis Classic at the Ashland Tennis Center.
Maegan Manasse needed three sets to beat Misaki Doi of Japan 7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-2 in a semifinal that lasted nearly two and a half hours. Gail Brodsky took care of her match on the other side of the draw against Jovana Jaksic of Serbia, 6-2, 6-4, in little more than an hour.
Manasse and Brodsky will face each other for the championship in the USTA Pro Circuit event at 1 p.m. Sunday. The match will be live streamed and can be viewed at ashlandprotennis.com.
Jaksic and Renata Zarazua from Mexico defeated Sanaz Marand and Whitney Osuigwe from the United States in the Saturday doubles championship 6-3, 5-7, 10-4.
