Bailly ‘honoured’ to captain Manchester United

The Cote d’Ivoire international led the Red Devils’ for the first time as they ended their US Tour on a winning note on Wednesday

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is honoured to have worn the armband as his side defeated Real Madrid 2-1 on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old was tasked to lead the Old Trafford outfit at the Hard Rock Stadium hours after Jose Mourinho praised him for his determination and commitment.

Goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera rendered Karim Benzema’s effort consolatory as the Red Devils ended their International Champions Cup with a victory.

Impressed by the team’s display in Miami, Bailly who was in action for entire 90 minutes took to social media to react to his first outing as the skipper of Manchester United.

“Good performance to keep making progress in pre-season. Honoured to wear the captain’s armband for the first time,” Bailly wrote on Instagram.
