Manchester City are eyeing a £60m January move for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, according to The Sun.
As per the report from The Sun, City also sent scouts to watch Neves when Wolves made their return to the Premier League vs Everton.
During said game, Neves would score and assist as Wolves drew 2-2.
Manchester City miss out on Jorginho
Manchester City did not do an awful lot of business in the 2018 summer transfer window.
In fact, the only senior player they signed was Riyad Mahrez from Leicester for around £60 million.
However, City were also in the market for a central midfielder over the summer.
One midfielder City looked very close to signing was Napoli’s Jorginho.
The deal looked all but wrapped up, however, at the last second, Chelsea would swoop in and sign the Italian from under City’s nose.
As a result, City are still in search of a central midfielder to provide back up to Fernandinho.
Fernandinho is by no means a bad player but he is unlikely to be able to play every game for City this season.
Therefore, City probably need to reinforce that area with Neves said to be a top target to do so.
Manchester City vs Huddersfield
Manchester City kicked off their 2018/19 season with a comfortable 2-0 win over Arsenal.
City dominated the Premier League last season winning the title with 100 points.
They also managed a League Cup win last year and after dominating Arsenal last weekend, City do not look like they have lost any of the qualities that made them such a force last season.
City now face Huddersfield in their second game of the season later today.
However, Manchester City will be without Kevin De Bruyne who will reportedly miss three months of the season through injury.
