NBA Live 19 demo available now on PS4, Xbox One

NBA Live 19’s demo is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users to try out. It includes a preview of the game’s career mode, Live Events, customization options and more.

NBA Live 19 will, for the first time, allow users to create women players within The One, the game’s single-player career suite. The demo will provide a glimpse of what that entails in the full game. Players will be able to participate in a three-on-three mixed-gender pickup game featuring stars such as the WNBA’s Candace Parker and newly enshrined hall-of-famer Allen Iverson.

The One will also offer the chance to run ball in solo, competitive and cooperative multiplayer in The Streets portion of the mode. Creating a male player will let users preview The League, where they play up to the point they’re drafted into the NBA. Progress in the NBA Live 19 demo is transferrable to the full game (on the same platforms).

Users will get one player to customize and take as high as level 20 — though that character may be reset, for those who want to see how both women and men play in The One.

The play-now previews for both WNBA and NBA games are unlocked after completing two games in The Rise. The NBA demo involves the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics; the WNBA’s features the Los Angeles Sparks and Minnesota Lynx.

Additionally, tonight at 10 p.m. ET, NBA’s Twitch channel is hosting a pre-launch event for NBA Live 19, which promises the reveal of “an all-new game mode,” according to a release, plus a dunk contest and other entertainment.

NBA Live 19 formally launches on Sept. 7 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A limited 10-hour preview will be available to Xbox One subscribers of the EA Access service on Aug. 31.
