UEFA’s Michel Platini baffled by Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus move

‘I can’t understand the move’

Former UEFA president Michel Platini has claimed that he ‘can’t understand’ why Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus.

The Portuguese star left the Bernabeu in the summer to join Turin giants Juventus in what was no doubt the biggest move of the window.

Having won three consecutive Champions League trophies, Cristiano will now be looking to add another one to his cabinet but this time with another club.

Though, not everyone has agreed with Ronaldo’s decision to leave Real Madrid.

Was Ronaldo right to leave Real Madrid?

Michel Platini has claimed that it’s ‘odd’ that he left Real Madrid when he did.

Platini claimed that when he was a similar age he was already tired and wouldn’t have been able to go on a new adventure.

Though, when it comes to Ronaldo, he just simply cannot get his head around it.

‘I think it’s odd that at 33 years of age he’s left ‘his’ Real Madrid, with whom he has won three Champions Leagues in a row, to try a new adventure.

‘When I was 32 lots of teams wanted me, but I retired because I was tired.’

‘I can’t understand the move.

“I do not know if Juventus has contacted him or if it was (Jorge) Mendes who offered him, I cannot understand this operation.’
