Lake Mary leads girls golf rankings

Dennis Burchill, head coach of No. 1 Lake Mary in the first Orlando Sentinel girls golf Super Six ranking of the 2018 season, said it best with, “On any given day any one of these teams could win against the others.”

That means this six will change multiple times between now and the end of the season.

1. Lake Mary – The defending Class 3A state champ has already won a national event in Arizona this season, and remained undefeated in dual meets by shooting 143 against Seminole on Tuesday at The Legacy Club.

2. Freedom – Patriots come in at No. 2 after tying with host First Academy on Monday in the Royals’ own invite with a score of 330 (Freedom earned second after a tiebreaker) at Grand Cypress.

3. The First Academy – The Royals have a chance to move up a spot next week by facing Freedom on Thursday at Hunters Creek.

4. Windermere Prep – The Lakers were fourth in the TFA Invite on Monday, just two strokes behind the hosts and Freedom with Yoko Tai tying for medalist with even-par 72.

5. Lake Mary Prep – The Griffins remain undefeated in dual meets after a rain-shortened win over TFA-Leesburg on Tuesday at Timacuan Golf Club.

6. Circle Christian – The Centurions shot 159 on Wednesday to defeat Orangewood Christian at Ventura Country Club.

Just missing the cut – Lake Nona, Winter Park, Olympia, Lake Highland
