Major setback fears for Tottenham’s move into their new stadium

When will Tottenham make their move?

It’s going according to plan for Tottenham.

Spurs fans had hoped that they’d be watching their team play the 2018-19 season in their brand new stadium.

Spurs have left White Hart Lane, while last season the Lillywhites played their ‘home’ matches at Wembley.

Several weeks ago Spurs confirmed that plans to move into their ground had been delayed for safety concerns.

On Thursday, the Daily Mail suggest that Tottenham may be ‘homeless’ for the 2018-19 season.

Spurs face longer delays

Of course, Tottenham have already played at Wembley again this season.

Spurs beat Fulham 3-1 at the home of English football. While Tottenham have already scheduled more matches to be played at Wembley.

But could Tottenham play all their matches at Wembley? The Mail have today reported the following:

Tottenham could be ordered by the Premier League to play their entire season’s home games at Wembley amid growing concerns that their new stadium may not be ready until after Christmas.

Sportsmail understands that the London club have taken up an option with the FA to extend their stay at the national stadium, with sources suggesting that the agreement runs until their Premier League match against Burnley on December 15.

Tottenham’s season so far

After four rounds of the new Premier League season, Tottenham are fifth in the league.

Spurs have nine points on the board following a 2-1 defeat at Watford last time out.

Prior to the Watford defeat, Tottenham had scored wins against Newcastle, Fulham and Manchester United.

When the Premier League restarts after the international break, Tottenham will take on Liverpool at Wembley.

Last season Spurs won this fixture 4-1.
