NBA trade news: Boston Celtics star Terry Rozier opens up on Suns talk | Other | Sport

Boston Celtics rising star Terry Rozier insists he is blocking out rumours he could be traded this summer.

Rozier proved one of Boston’s best players last term after a stellar post-season.

The 24-year-old had what many regard as a breakout campaign in 2017/18, having previously worked in the Celtics roster without much attention being paid to him.

But a strong end to last season in Kyrie Irving’s absence has increased the interest in the point guard.

There are claims Phoenix Suns could come in for the player before the season starts next month.

But Rozier insists he is not giving the NBA trade rumours much thought.

“It’s only going to get crazier every year,” he said.

“I don’t really try to think about it too much but it’s more how I watch everybody, how it all works.

“I’ve been focused on winning and that’s all I’m really worrying about.

“I’ve been all smiles all summer.”

Rozier saw his points average rise from 15.6 to 16.5 in the post-season as Boston went as far as the Conference Finals before being dumped out by Cleveland.

Rozier proved the top assists maker in six of Boston’s seven First Round games over Milwaukee.

He also impressed in their 4-1 series win over the 76ers in the Conference semis.

, Yahoo Sports’ Michael Lee told the NBA Hang Time podcast the player can expect to earn more game time this coming season.

“Terry Rozier, I think there will be opportunities for them to play small and he can play with Kyrie at times,” Lee said.

“I think he really showed that he can do a lot more than just be a spark plug off the bench. he can create, he can do other things for his team-mates.
