Pinckney second in SEC White tennis tourney

PINCKNEY — Pinckney finished second out of seven teams in the Southeastern Conference White Division tennis tournament.

Chelsea won with 53 points, followed by Pinckney with 48 and Dexter with 37.

Winning individual championships for the Pirates were Reed Powers at No. 3 singles and Luke Flickema at No. 4 singles.

All four of Pinckney’s doubles teams finished in second place: Mitch Dickey and Luke Walter at No. 1, Blake Mahnken and Nathan Warshal at No. 2, Devin Jones and Ben Wittrup at No. 3, and Alex Geyer and Merek Dickey at No. 4.

Pinckney won at least two matches in all eight flights. The Pirates were 4-1-1 in SEC dual matches and are 7-2-1 overall.

Savannah Grabowski and Violet Sinishtaj shot 46s for Hartland (3-3), while Olivia Root had a 47 at Walnut Creek Country Club.

 

VOLLEYBALL

St. Johns 3, Fowlerville 0

Fowlerville lost, 25-21, 25-14, 25-20.

Dani Ryan had 15 assists; Livvie DuFore had 11 digs and 7 kills; Leah Ash had 7 kills and 5 blocks; Grace Wallace had 18 dogs; Natalie Juopperi had 12 digs; and Jackie Jarvis had 6 kills and 13 digs for Fowlerville.
