Both these Bundesliga sides have seen plenty of goals after the break this season and that trend should continue when they meet on Friday night
Friday night’s Bundesliga action comes from Bremen as Wolfsburg make the trip to Weserstadion.
Werder’s eight match unbeaten run was ended at Stuttgart last week whilst their visitors have not won in four, despite starting well by claiming maximum points in the first two weeks of the season.
It can be of little surprise, then, that Werder are 888Sport’s 49/50 (1.98) favourites to claim three points and draw level on points with Bundesliga pacesetters Borussia Dortmund.
The draw is available at 5/2 (3.50) and a Wolfsburg win, which would see them leapfrog their hosts, is available at 13/5 (3.60).
Clashes between these sides have often produced plenty of goals, with over 2.5 strikes – priced at just 10/13 (1.77) here – landing in all but one of the last 11 meetings.
That quote may be a touch short, though, and instead the 49/50 (1.98) available on over 1.5 second half goals looks far more appealing and would have paid out in six of those 11 matches.
Coming back to this season, five of Werder’s six games have seen more than one goal in the second period and both teams have scored, which is available at just 16/25 (1.64), in all six.
The story is identical for Wolfsburg, with a 0-0 draw at Mainz the only time that one of their fixtures this season has not seen both teams find the net or produce over 1.5 second half goals.
It is also worth noting that Bremen have kept just a single Bundesliga clean sheet since February, a span of 16 games in which they have conceded a total of 20 times.
Certainly, there is plenty of attractiveness in over 3.5 strikes at 41/20 (3.05), and some punters may be tempted by both teams to score in the second half at 21/10 (3.10). However, the 49/50 (1.98) on over 1.5 second half goals is too good to miss.
