NASCAR heads back to Kansas Speedway and yet another 1.5-mile track and that’s perfect timing for Martin Truex Jr., who won each of the two races in Kansas last season and earned a second-place finish there earlier this year.
Truex is on the bubble in eighth place in the playoff standings and the defending champion of NASCAR’s playoffs would love to punch his ticket to the round of eight with a victory in Kansas.
Kevin Harvick has also yet to win in the playoffs this year, but with a victory in the lone race at Kansas Speedway in May he could be primed for victory. Aric Almirola, fresh off victory at Talladega and in the lead for playoff points, will look for a win at the track where he experienced a fiery wreck during the May 2017 race.
Almirola finished ninth in his return to the track in May.
The Hollywood Casino 400 can be seen Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
