Nationals sign reliever Trevor Rosenthal

The Nationals are closing in on a deal with free-agent right-hander Trevor Rosenthal, a source told MLB.com on Wednesday.

Rosenthal missed all of this past season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in August 2017. The 28-year-old has a 2.99 ERA over 325 innings — all in relief — while racking up 121 saves, including 40-plus saves in back-to-back seasons from 2014-15.
