Klay Thompson on Lakers
Klay Thompson claims the Los Angeles Lakers will be the Golden State Warriors’ arch-rivals this season following LeBron James’ move.
“They’re LA, in any sport they’re alway great. It will definitely carry over to basketball, that’s for sure,” Thompson, who has been linked with a move to the Lakers, revealed.
“The music, art, movies, destination, there’s always a NorCal-SoCal debate and that’s what makes it so great.
“Growing up definitely, high school sports, professional sports, musicians, athletes, you always had a debate where the town is at.
“He [James] is always been at the top of the East and in the Finals, those games are always intense.
“I expect him to really improve the Lakers and he has got a bunch of guys – he is the best player in the league.
“I expect them to be in play-off contention. Championship contention I’m not sure, I have got to wait and see, it takes a lot of work.
“It is pretty cool. I don’t think you would have guessed it when he was with the Cavs but it’s adding a tonne of interest in the league.”
LeBron James on taking a lesser role
LeBron James has opened up on taking a lesser role when discussing the end of his career.
“What helps with the gracefully bowing out is having people around you that was there from day one. That’s seen you from the beginning,” the 33-year-old said in the upcoming episode of The Shop, featuring Drake.
“You can’t have motherf*****s around you that don’t keep it honest with you and keep it real with you.
“You gotta have someone tell you like ‘Yo, either accept a lesser role or you gotta tank’.”
Jimmy Butler decision
The Minnesota Timberwolves are preparing to start the season with Jimmy Butler.
Butler requested a trade last month, with the shooting guard linked with the Miami Heat and the Houston Rockets.
However, Jon Krawczynski of the Athletic says the Timberwolves are planning to start the season with Butler on their roster.
Minnesota’s asking price for Butler has put off numerous teams in trade talks.
