Anthony was let go by the Houston Rockets this week, and speculation is rife about his next move.
The 10-time NBA All-Star has only been at the Rockets since the start of this season, but has already been moved by the team after failing to settle.
In his short stint in Houston he played just ten games for the side.
He had an average of 13.4 points-per-game, with 29.4 minutes per game average.
And now, reports are circulating about what ‘Melo will do, and whether or not he will retire.
Reports have linked him with a potential link-up with LeBron James at the Los Angeles Lakers, though some have suggested he should hang up his jersey for good.
Iverson, however, has claimed the star has plenty more to give the sport, and said he shouldn’t even consider walking away.
“No way Melo should retire,” he said.
“I definitely think he should keep going.
“He got a lot left in the tank, man. It’s just got to be the right situation.
“He’s going to find his way to adapt to the game and the best spot.
“I believe in him, and I know he’s strong enough.
“He has a strong foundation behind him as far as his family and friends.
“I really think he’ll be alright.
“I’m in Melo’s corner all the way.”
Iverson played professional basketball for 15 years, the same amount of time Anthony has currently been in the league.
Despite his age of 34, three teams are reportedly interested in retaining his services for the rest of the season at least.
The Lakers, the Portland Trail Blazers, and the Miami Heat are all reported to be interested, and Anthony turned down the latter two sides earlier in his career.
