Jamie Carragher slams ’embarrassing’ PSG stars vs Liverpool

Carragher not happy with PSG stars

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has labelled Paris Saint-Germain stars ’embarrassing’ following their antics in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Reds were beaten 2-1 at the Parc des Princes with Juan Bernat and Neymar getting the goals.

James Milner did get one back for Liverpool from the penalty spot but it was not enough.

That defeat leaves Jurgen Klopp’s side needing to win their clash with Napoli 1-0 if they are to progress.

If Napoli score, Liverpool would need to beat the Italian side by two goals to go through to the next stage.

Though, one of the biggest talking points last night was the antics of some PSG players.

A few were criticised for diving and playacting, especially Neymar.

“Rolling round on the floor like that, the only time you see that is children at kindergarten”

Now, Jamie Carragher has slammed several PSG players.

“It was very frustrating,” he explained, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“With Neymar we’re talking about one of the best players in the world, but watching him tonight was embarrassing.

“If he continues that through his whole career, he’s going to be remembered for that rather than the great player that he is. It leaves a sour taste in the mouth. I have no sympathy for the PSG players if Klopp is angry with them.

“Even Thiago Silva, the captain, a centre-back, rolling round in the corner at the end and holding his face.

“This is a great team with some great players, they don’t need top resort to these tactics, they should let their football do the talking.

“You’re frustrated as a Liverpool supporter, but as a football fan watching around the world. They should be embarrassed.

“I don’t know how they go back to speak to their families and their wives in the players’ lounge.

“Rolling round on the floor like that, the only time you see that is children at kindergarten.”
