The latest: ESPN’s Buster Only reports that he’s hearing from teams that it could behoove San Francisco to move Baumgarner sooner than later as his skills deteriorate. USA Today’s Bob Nightengale suggested San Francisco let Baumgarner show his stuff in spring training and early in the year and hope he boosts his trade value.

The latest: To nobody’s surprise, Corbin declined the $17.9-million qualifying offer Arizona offered him. It’s likely Corbin will be the free agent market’s highest-paid pitcher, with the Yankees among the teams battling to sign him. The Phillies and Nationals are also expected to be in the mix, according to MLB.com’s Jon Morosi.
