If you had to put together an NBA team of nothing but guys who played high school basketball in the Houston area, you’d be able to form a pretty formidable group.
You’d have NBA star Jimmy Butler there to provide the offense with young point guard De’Aaron Fox running the show. DeAndre Jordan would fill the big man spot and guys like Justise Winslow and Jonathon Simmons could round out your starting lineup.
In all, there are 16 players in the NBA who got their start playing high school basketball in the Houston area. That doesn’t even include some of the former Houston high school stars like Joe Young, Isaiah Taylor and Aaron Harrison, who just barely didn’t make NBA rosters this season.
There are 32 NBA players, who played high school ball in Texas, with Spurs star LaMarcus Aldridge being the biggest name.
