Eloy Jimenez, the White Sox No. 1 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, is 22 years old and on the cusp of breaking into the Majors.
Bartolo Colon, 21-year MLB veteran who has said he wants to come back in 2019, is 45 years old and realistically in the twilight of his career. He was also first signed by the Indians three years before Jimenez was born.
In a Dominican Winter League showdown between Aguilas Cibaenas and Gigantes del Cibao on Wednesday night, these two talents squared off in the third inning. Jimenez laced a single to the gap in left-center, scoring Giants prospect Abiatal Avelino all the way from first base:
