Magician Messi again
Lionel Messi is one of the best players of all time.
In fact, many think he is the best. The GOAT.
So when the Ballon d’Or results were announced – a trophy dominated by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo over the last decade – people were shocked.
Messi was nowhere to be seen. Either at the ceremony or in the top three.
In fact, he came fifth in the world.
Luka Modric, who had a sublime season, took home the prize.
However, the main talking point was the fact Messi missed out on the top three.
Since then, the Barcelona star seems to be on a personal mission to show how good he is.
Tonight, against Levante, Messi was world class.
He scored a hat-trick, and got two assists as well.
Once again, Twitter was raving about him, and his sublime skills.
In fact, many people made the point that he should have won the Ballon d’Or and noted just how good he really is.

Imagine if instead of Madrid losing Ronaldo at the start of the season, Barca lost Messi. Wonder what the table would look like.
