Drinkwater joins Chelsea
Danny Drinkwater joined Chelsea in August of 2017 from Leicester City.
Since joining Chelsea, Drinkwater has managed just 23 appearances across all competitions for the Blues, in which he has scored one.
During his first season at Chelsea Drinkwater made 22 appearances under Antonio Conte.
However, many of those appearances came as a sub and it did not really seem like Conte actually wanted to play Drinkwater.
Antonio Conte would leave Chelsea over the summer with Maurizio Sarri taking over.

Sarri casts doubt over Drinkwater’s future
With a new boss in charge, perhaps Drinkwater would have been hoping from some more game time this campaign.
Unfortunately, that has not been the case for the 28-year-old.
In fact, Drinkwater has made just one appearance this season for Chelsea.
That appearance came as a sub in the Community Shield right at the start of the season.
Also, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek returning from his loan spell with Crystal Palace and Mateo Kovacic joining Chelsea this summer, Drinkwater has slipped even further down the Chelsea midfielder pecking order.
Sarri has now cast further doubt over Drinkwater’s future by admitting he simply does not fit into Sarri’ssystemm:
“I think that he’s a very good midfielder, but he is suitable for a midfield with two midfielders.
“He’s not suitable to play centre right or centre left. So I think that, for him, the problem is only my football.
“I don’t know (his future). It depends upon the club. It’s up to him, I think. I don’t know.”
