Numbers Game: Canadiens @ Blackhawks

CHICAGO – Here’s a numerical look at Sunday night’s game between the Canadiens and the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center.

3 – Number of current Habs who formerly played for the Hawks, namely forwards Andrew Shaw and Phillip Danault and goalie Antti Niemi. Of the three, Shaw racked up the most games in the Windy City with 322, collecting 70 goals for 137 points. No. 65 won two Stanley Cups during his time in Chicago.

7Carey Price was making his seventh consecutive start on Sunday. He has allowed just 16 goals during the stretch.

14 – With a goal early in the game, Max Domi reclaimed first place in goals on the team with 14. The forward also leads the Habs in overall scoring with 31 points in 30 games this season. The goal was his 50th in the NHL.

1 – Andrew Shaw enjoyed a lot of big moments at the United Center, but scoring against the Blackhawks was never one of them. The Belleville native registered his first point against Chicago on Sunday with an assist on Domi’s goal, in his fifth game against his former club. Shaw had scored 70 goals and added 67 assists in 322 games in a Hawks uniform from 2011-12 to 2015-16.

2 – All three Habs players who contributed to the team’s second goal of the night registered a point for a second straight game. With Shea Weber‘s bullet lighting the lamp, Michael Chaput and Kenny Agostino earned an assist in a second consecutive tilt.

29:32 – Ice time logged by Weber, a season high for the Habs captain. 

31 – Defenseman Jeff Petry celebrated his 31st birthday on Sunday. The Habs rearguard marked the occasion by logging 22:44 of ice time, registering five hits, and contributing an assist on the game-winner. He has 49 goals and 139 assists in 557 career games with the Edmonton Oilers and Canadiens.
