Ivan Gazidis to go up against his former club
Arsenal have been handed a transfer blow on Wednesday with news that AC Milan have rejoined the race to sign Yannick Carrasco.
Carrasco has been in the news quite a lot in recent weeks.
Several clubs including Arsenal have been linked with a move for the player.
The Gunners have had an up and down season under Unai Emery so far.
Despite starting the season brilliantly they have since lost their way somewhat.
That has lead to Manchester United closing the gap between them and Arsenal.
However, if reports are to be believed, Arsenal are looking to strengthen their squad and that could see them back on track.
Denis Suarez is supposedly close to completing a deal but Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Yannick Carrasco.
Carrasco’s agent admitted this week that ‘everything is possible’ but time is running out.
Now, Arsenal have been handed another blow in their reported pursuit of the player.
Where will Carrasco end up?
That is because according to Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, as cited by Football Italia, AC Milan have joined the race to sign Carrasco.
They claim that ‘Dalian Yifang are now open to a six-month loan deal’ and that Yifang decided to lower their demands.
That has seen Milan reignite their interest in the Belgian.
After Ivan Gazidis left Arsenal for AC Milan, this would see him going up against his former club for the first time.
Only time will tell who comes out on top.
Why Arsenal are likelier to sign Yannick Carrasco instead of Ivan Perisic
Another name that has been linked with a move to Arsenal is Ivan Perisic.
Now, that deal is looking more unlikely than a deal to sign Carrasco.
