It’s finally done!
Juventus have revealed how much it would cost Chelsea to make Gonzalo Higuain’s move permanent at the end of his initial loan deal.
Higuain has been in the news for a fair few weeks now.
‘Pipita’ had been linked with a move away from AC Milan to join up with former boss Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.
That lead to this week where that move was seemingly sped up and a deal for Higuain was completed.
Chelsea announced the deal as a loan move until the end of the season but Juventus have now revealed the exact details of the deal.
Full details of Higuain’s transfer
The Turin giants announced on their website that Chelsea do have an option to buy Higuain in the summer.
As explained on Juventus’ website, should Chelsea want to loan him for another year it would cost them €18million.
If they wanted to sign him permanently then it would cost them €36million.
That full fee would be payable over a two-year period.

“I had to take it”
Higuain has also been speaking about his move.
He has explained that he’s always liked Chelsea and has always wanted to play in the Premier League.
All things considered, Higuain knew it was a chance he couldn’t pass up.
‘When the opportunity to join Chelsea presented itself I had to take it,’ he explained to the club’s official website.
“It’s a team I’ve always liked that has a lot of history, a wonderful stadium and they play in the Premier League, a league I’ve always wanted to play in.
‘I now hope I can give back that trust Chelsea have shown me out on the pitch. I can’t wait to start and I hope to adapt as soon as possible.’

Chelsea’s number one target
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia also had some words to say on the Higuain transfer.
She revealed that the player was Chelsea’s number one target and that while it was a difficult deal to do, they are happy it got done.
‘Gonzalo was our number one target in this transfer window and arrives with a proven record at the highest level,’ she explained.
‘He has previously worked with Maurizio to great effect and is familiar with how the coach likes to play.
‘This was not an easy deal for us to do because of the numerous parties involved, but we are delighted we were able to make it happen and we look forward to seeing the impact Gonzalo will make for us in the second half of the season.’
