Since 2015, nationally-known veterans advocate, Preston Sharp, has been honored approximately 185,000 veterans in 24 states, thanking them for their service by placing a flag and a flower on the graves of the fallen.
However, this weekend he is about to get a gift unlike anything he could have expected; two tickets to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, Georgia.
He said it all started when he went to New York to honor veterans but decided to make a pit-stop at the NFL headquarters first.
At the headquarters, Sharp met an NFL representative who asked if he could join Sharp at his New York event.
When the representative showed up, he was with NFL Hall of Famer Tony Richardson, as well as, two giant tickets to the Super Bowl, NFL Experience and NFL Honors.
“It felt good, and you know they didn’t have to do that. But, they still did. And I’m just super proud that they did. And I wont stop honoring veterans until I can’t bend down anymore. So it’s just amazing,” said Sharp.
Sharp will also be honoring veterans at South View Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia the day before the big game.
However, the family says they look forward to putting down the flowers and picking up their tickets on game day for the once in a lifetime football experience.
Sharp will not be able to pick up his tickets until the day of the Super Bowl.
