NFL trade rumors: 49ers could have ‘real interest’ in Steelers WR Antonio Brown | NFL

Antonio Brown reportedly “badly” wants to play for the 49ers. The feeling could be mutual.

Some around the league believe San Francisco has a “real interest” in dealing for the disgruntled 30-year-old Steelers wide receiver, according to a report from NBC Sports. The team is “inclined to explore” what it would take to acquire Brown, the report says.

Brown has spent his entire nine-year career in Pittsburgh. But he has reportedly been unhappy with the Steelers and president Art Rooney II said last week it was “hard to envision” him being with the team next season.

“There’s not much we can do right now; we have time to make a decision,” Rooney told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “We’ll look at all the options. We’re not going to release him, that’s not on the table. But I will say all other options are on the table.

Brown tallied 1,297 receiving yards and 15 scores with the Steelers in 2018. He has made seven Pro Bowls during his time in Pittsburgh.

The Steelers finished last season with a 9-6-1 record and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
