GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Sophomore Eric Evans led the Hawks, tying for 38th place at the Loyola Arizona Intercollegiate. Hartford finished 15th at the three-day event, which was held at the Palm Valley Golf Club.
HARTFORD HIGHLIGHTS:
- Evans parred the course in the first round, posting the lowest score for Hartford in round one. He carded a five-over 221 over the three rounds, tying him for 38th with nine others.
- Sophomore Ryan Tomaso and junior Elias Gross were Hartford’s second and third finishers, both tying for 57th with a 223. Tomaso finished strong, firing a one-under 71 for both the second and third rounds. Gross also posted his strongest performance in round three with a one-under 71.
- Senior Sam McNulty was the fourth finisher for the Hawks, posting a 225.
- Rounding out the Hawks’ competitors was sophomore Matthew Schwab (97).
- University of Alabama at Birmingham took the tournament after finishing 18 strokes under par (846) as a team. The Blazers landed two golfers in the top five, as William Walker, III took runner-up honors (seven-under 209) and Nick Robillard tied for fourth (six-under 210).

Hartford returns to action in one week when it heads to the Fort Lauderdale Country Club (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) for the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate. Hosted by Loyola (Md.), the event begins on Monday, March 4.
