Leicester City complete signing of Monaco’s Youri Tielemans

Impressive coup for the Foxes

Leicester City have completed the loan signing of Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans with Adrien Silva moving the other way as part of the deal.

The Foxes have been linked with a move for Tielemans for a number of weeks now.

Monaco are obviously in a very difficult position and could potentially suffer relegation from Ligue 1 if they don’t buck up their ideas.

Leonardo Jardim has returned to the club and Monaco have made a plethora of first-team signings which could have pushed Tielemans out the door.

Portuguese midfielder Adrien Silva went in the other direction on loan after failing to impress at the King Power.

Though, Monaco’s loss could be Leicester’s gain in relation to Tielemans.

That is because the Belgian was so highly rated during his time at Anderlecht.

Should Claude Puel get the best out of the midfielder, it could be a very shrewd piece of business.

Excited to get going at his new club

Now, Tielemans has been speaking about his move.

Safe to say, he’s very excited to get started at his new club and is excited to play in the Premier League.

“I’m really excited to get going,” he explained to the Leicester official website.

The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world and when I was young, I always watched Premier League games.

“I’m really happy to be here and I’m excited to get started.

“It’s a big family. Everybody is really kind and really good with me. I think it will be really good here.”

Leicester were in the headlines on Wednesday and not because of the transfer window.

It was because Liverpool were denied what looked to be a penalty against Leicester.
