SWFL football players picked for 2018 All State teams

A total of 41 players from Southwest Florida have received all-state selections by FloridaHSFootball.com.

The website released its first, second and third teams as well as honorable mentions in all eight classifications this week. The picks were made by site publisher Joshua Wilson after consulting with coaches and media members around the state.

Lee County had 20 players selected, while 19 came from Collier County schools. Two were from Hendry County school LaBelle.

Naples High led all local programs with nine all-state selections, including four on the first team in Class 6A. The Golden Eagles went 12-2 this past season and won a regional championship.

North Fort Myers had five all-state players with three selected to the 6A first team. The Red Knights went 9-4 and lost to Naples in the regional finals.

St. John Neumann had four all-state selections, while Evangelical Christian and Riverdale had three each. Bishop Verot, Cape Coral, Dunbar, Fort Myers, Immokalee and LaBelle each had two players recognized.
