NHL DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy hockey top picks for March 5

As the 2018-19 NHL season winds down, there are 10 games that dot the schedule on Tuesday. With four of those games with a total of 6.5 or more, it should be a high-scoring night in NHL DFS tournaments and cash games on FanDuel and DraftKings. Studs like Phil Kessel and Artemi Panarin have solid matchups and they’re going to be popular picks for NHL DFS lineups on Tuesday. But before you make your NHL DFS picks for Tuesday night, you’ll definitely want to check out the lineups from DFS millionaire Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account. This allows him to find the best NHL DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NHL DFS player.

On Monday, McClure was all over Sabres defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen at $4,700 on FanDuel. The result: He put three shots on net and dished out an assist against the Oilers — returning nearly 16 points and nearly 4x value. Anyone who rostered him was well on their way to a winning night.

For Tuesday’s NHL DFS slate, we can tell you McClure is high on Lightning wing Nikita Kucherov at $9,200 on FanDuel and $8,000 on DraftKings.

Kucherov is the frontrunner for both the Art Ross and the Hart Memorial, given to the NHL point leader and the MVP. He’s recorded 106 points in 66 games so far this season and he hasn’t gone more than two games in a row without a point. That makes his floor extremely comfortable and a matchup with the Jets, where the total is a whopping seven goals, leaves a good chance that Kucherov has a big night.

McClure also likes Penguins center Sidney Crosby ($9,300 on FanDuel, $7,800 on DraftKings), who has 10 points in his last four games. Crosby and the Penguins take on the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night and that’s historically been a good matchup for them. He has 51 points against the Panthers in 40 career games and the Panthers enter tonight’s matchup struggling on defense. They’ve given up 17 goals in their last four games (all losses) and you’ll definitely want Crosby in your NHL DFS lineups with a juicy matchup like this.

McClure is also targeting an undervalued player who is set to explode for huge numbers on Tuesday. He’s a huge steal at his price point, so this pick could be the difference between cashing and going home with nothing. You absolutely need to see who it is before setting your lineups.
