Sao Paulo Hosts Fourth Edition of Ball Dogs Exhibition | ATP Tour

For the fourth straight year, the stars of the ATP Tour were not the only ones skilfully tracking down balls at the Brasil Open!

In one of the most loved traditions on the tennis calendar, Sao Paulo once again hosted a ball dogs exhibition with five rescue dogs showcasing their skills in front of an adoring crowd on Centre Court.

Currently living at the NGO, Patinhas Unidas, which translates as ‘United Paws’, rescue dogs Pipoca, Teka, Thor, Kiara and Bob made sure that singles quarter-finalist Marco Trungelliti and doubles semi-finalist Roman Jebavy were consistently provided with tennis balls throughout the duration of the exhibition.

The tournament is hoping the good behaviour of the five talented ball dogs won’t go unnoticed. The main purpose of the exhibition is to find new owners for the dogs, who were previously living on the streets after being abandoned by their owners.

The Brasil Open has an impressive 100 per cent record to maintain. Following each of the previous three ball dog exhibitions, at least one of the ball dogs has found a new home at the conclusion of the event.
