MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Victoria England has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the University of Memphis women’s golf team in the fall of 2019 it was announced by Head Coach Beth Harrelson, Friday.
Before finishing as a home school student, England captured a pair of Division II-A titles as a member of the team at St. George’s. She earned her first state crown as an eighth grader in 2014. She then earned Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) all-state honor as a sophomore in 2016 after finishing second at the state tournament by two strokes. As a junior, she captured her second state championship crown in 2017, claiming medalist honors by 11 strokes.
England has been named to the Commercial Appeal All-Metro team four times, ranging from 2014 to 2017.
England is one of three signees for Memphis for the 2019-20 season. She joins Haley Barclay (London, Ontario, Canada) and Brooke Veres (Goodyear, Arizona/Millennium HS) as newcomers on the Memphis roster this fall.
Memphis closes its regular season with its home invitational, April 1-2 at Ridgeway Country Club. Participating teams in that tournament include Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Cincinnati, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Missouri State, Penn State, Southern Miss, Troy, UAB, UALR, University of Toledo, and Western Kentucky.
Admission to that tournament is free on both days of play. Both days begin with an 8:30 am shotgun start.
