Famed wrestler Rey Mysterio and punk rock band Sum 41 are among the celebrities appearing at this year’s NASCAR race in Fontana on March 17.
The Canadian punk rockers will perform a pre-race concert on the main stage in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Fan Zone from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. before the start of the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Auto Club 400.
Mysterio will be the honorary pace car driver. He’ll pilot a 2019 Toyota Supra pace car and will lead the NASCAR Cup Series drivers before the 12:30 p.m. start of the race. The event will be televised on FOX.
Sum 41 rose to fame in the punk rock scene of the early 2000s and is known for such songs as “War,” “Fat Lip, “Breaking the Chain” and “Over My Head.”
Mysterio, a masked wrestler, has won the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship and Intercontinental Championship. He won Royal Rumble in 2006.
Mötley Crüe will be the race grand marshals.
Tickets to the NASCAR race include the Sum 41 concert and range from $50 to $185.
To see Mysterio in the pre-race ceremony, guests will need both a ticket and a pre-race pit pass ($55).
