Biggest winner in NFL free agency? Buffalo Bills, says one ESPN+ NFL expert

The praise continues to pour in for the Buffalo Bills.

Media members have had plenty of positive things to say about the Bills’ free agent signings on social media and CBS Sports named the Bills among their free agency winners. Now one ESPN+ NFL expert, Field Yates, is saying that the Bills are the biggest winner of free agency to date.

Here is what Yates said when asked which team has been the biggest winner of free agency:

“Bills. I’m a huge proponent of the plan that the Bills have laid since coach Sean McDermott and eventually GM Brandon Beane were hired. Drafting and developing will be the primary forces for this regime, but they’ve wisely identified fits for their greatest needs in free agency. QB Josh Allen had one of the league’s weakest supporting casts in 2018, but that will not be the case next season.”

As Yates noted, Josh Allen’s weapons look significantly better on paper entering year two. Beane seemingly is following the same blueprint that the Chicago Bears used with Mitch Trubisky.

Yates wasn’t the only NFL expert to compliment the Bills on their free agent signings. When asked for their favorite signing in free agency, Kevin Seifert picked Buffalo signing wide receiver John Brown.

“WR John Brown to the Bills. Brown will play with strong-armed but erratic quarterback Josh Allen. He still has top-end speed and ranked fourth in the NFL last season in average yards per reception (17). Speed can help compensate for inaccurate quarterbacks.”
