Henrikh Mkhitaryan celebrates Arsenal move with Mino Raiola in London

A rare swap deal is done between two Premier League sides

For years now, tabloid suggestions of a swap deal between two major Premier League sides have been rubbished with the refrain “when do swap deals ever happen?”

Well, as the announcements draw ever closer, the Alexis Sanchez swap for Henrikh Mkhitaryan swap deal is more or less a reality.

Alexis Sanchez has undergone a medical at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground on Saturday evening.

And, according to many reliable sources, Manchester United will announce the signing of the Chilean attacker on Sunday.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan set to sign for Arsenal

Initially, reports emerged that Henrikh Mkhitaryan did not want to play for Arsenal.

That issue appears to have been ironed out and Mkhitaryan came to an agreement with Manchester United regarding the final years of his contract at Old Trafford.

For quite a few days it appeared that super agent Mino Raiola had held up the deal whilst he got a better deal for his client Mkhitaryan.

Most Arsenal fans seem pleased with the deal their club have managed to secure. After all, Alexis Sanchez could have been sold for 20 million pounds.

So Henrikh Mkhitaryan potentially linking up with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang again is a lot better than 20 million pounds in the bank.

Mkhitaryan celebrates Arsenal move in London with Raiola

On Saturday night, Sky Sports have caught up with Mkhitaryan and the Armenian playmaker is in London.

Mkhitaryan will undergo his Arsenal medical within the next 48 hours. For now, he is enjoying himself in London with Raiola.

Arsenal play Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg on Wednesday night. Mkhitaryan’s first game for the Gunners looks likely to be at Swansea on January 30, 2018.
