Return

Former Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal has revealed that he has received an offer to return to football that he ‘actually cannot refuse’.

The former Netherlands boss has been out of the job since we was sacked by Manchester United back in 2016.

Van Gaal was sacked despite winning the FA Cup and Jose Mourinho eventually replaced him.

While he is very much still bitter about losing his job at Old Trafford, he is set to return to football now.

Speaking on Dutch TV channel Ziggo on Tuesday, cited by the Daily Mail, Van Gaal revealed that he has received an offer that he cannot refuse.

‘I have now received an offer that I actually cannot refuse,’ he explained.

‘More than this I do not say, if I am not at work in July or August, I will definitely retire.’

Still bitter

The former Old Trafford boss also went further in-depth into his Manchester United sacking in a separate interview.

The Dutch boss described the club as ‘mean and low’ and that the former players played a big part.

‘The way Manchester United have treated me was terrible. They have been mean and low.

‘The former players of United started to have a go, saying that I was giving the fans boring football. That struck me. It was directed, organised.

‘After a while, I started to think I’m losing my authority this way towards the players. So I had to make concessions in my approach of the players. That was tough, because I’ve always had my own way of coaching.’
