TORONTO — Joey Gallo extended the Rangers’ early lead on Friday in Toronto with a first-inning rocket to the opposite field for his eighth home run of the season.
Gallo got all of the sinking fastball from Blue Jays starter Marcus Stroman. With an exit velocity of 110.3 mph, it represents just the second time that Gallo has topped 110 mph on an opposite-field home run since Statcast™ started measuring in 2015.

His only other opposite-field homer to top that plateau came just five days ago on April 22.
Gallo stepped to the plate in the first inning with the Rangers already up 2-0 after a two-run single from Nomar Mazara, who came around to score on the home run, which made it 4-0.
