Mo Salah: Premier League player of the season!

At the beginning of the 2017/2018 season, pretty much no one saw Mo Salah clean sweeping all the Premier League awards.

Having scored 32 goals in a hugely exciting Liverpool side, Salah has been picking up individual awards left, right and centre.

On Sunday, it was announced that Salah was the Premier League player of the season.

EA SPORTS were able to speak exclusively to the Egyptian forward after we won the award this weekend.

Mo Salah, speaking to EASPORTS.com, said a number of intriguing things in the interview below.

For us, the most interesting was his revelation that both his favourite goals this season came against Manchester City.

Mo, congratulations! How do you feel about being the Premier League’s player of the season and the first ever African to win the award?

I’m very happy it’s an honour to win this award especially for Africa. I’m very happy and very proud to win it. It’s not the last one this year so very happy about that.

What were your objectives at the start of the season and have you started thinking about objectives for next season?

We have to finish the season well, there are still two games left this season – like final games – we have to think about the next two games and after that we have a holiday, then a world cup then the new season.

When you started this season what were your objectives?

It was always on my mind to perform the best I can – I had two great seasons in Rome but it was always on my mind to come back to the premier league to show the people who said I didn’t succeed here the first time and prove that I can be a success in the premier league.

It has been a great season; do you have a favourite goal?

Probably the Man City goal but away in the Champions League, but premier league I would go for Man City at home.

What was special about that one?

The result was good. The atmosphere was unbelievable and I’m always happy to feel that I’m helping the team to win games and points – always happy about that.

Was that your favourite game of the season?

My favourite match was probably Everton at Home. It was good game and I liked it a lot but my favourite game was Watford for goals – I was very happy with that.

Finally – the manager has been saying nice things about you as a human being not just a player. Tell us what kind of influence the manager has had on you?

You know, before everything we are friends. I like him a lot. He has helped me a lot to do what I’m doing on the field and off it. I have to thank him for everything he has done this year and there are still 2 games to think about but I really respect him a lot and I’m sure we are going to do something special for the club this year to end it.
