NBA free agency rumors: Jahlil Okafor drawing interest from several Chinese teams | NBA

Former 76ers center Jahlil Okafor’s future in the NBA isn’t clear at this point, but there is a chance he could end up in China.

There are several teams in the Chinese Basketball Association interested in signing Okafor, according to basketball reporter Zhang Duo (via Sportando).

Okafor may not have to go to China, though, as Sporting News reported earlier this week the product out of Duke worked out for four teams last Wednesday in Las Vegas. The report adds that Okafor remains hopeful of signing with a team before training camp in the fall.

He has been working out in Miami as he waits to join a new team.

Okafor, the No. 3 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, averaged 17.5 points per game as a rookie in Philadelphia in 2015-16, but his debut season was limited to 53 games by a torn meniscus in his right knee. He played in 50 games in 2016-17 (11.8 ppg) and then only two last season for the 76ers before being traded to the Nets in early December. In 28 games last season, Okafor averaged 6.3 ppg.
