76ers guard Markelle Fultz ‘completely different, vastly improved’ player, report says | NBA

Markelle Fultz’s broken jump shot may be fixed.

Philadelphia selected the 20-year-old guard with the No.1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Fultz, however, struggled with injuries and a hitch in his jumper throughout his rookie season.

But, trainer Drew Hanlen has rebuilt Fultz’s shot this offseason. He currently looks like a “completely different, vastly improved player,” according to a report from Yahoo Sports, which cites an unidentified league source.

The 76ers finished last season with a 52-30 record and made the playoffs for the first time since 2011-12. Philadelphia topped the Heat in its opening-round series before falling to the Celtics in five games.

Fultz averaged 7.1 points per game and attempted a single 3-pointer in just 14 regular season appearances in 2018. He fell out of Philadelphia’s playoff rotation, totaling 23 minutes in three postseason games.
