Wilfried Zaha to submit Crystal Palace transfer request for Chelsea

Wilfried Zaha has informed fellow Crystal Palace colleagues he is determined to leave the club for Chelsea and is now considering submitting an official transfer request, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 25-year-old is understood to have rejected the Eagles’ £125k-per-week contract offer with the Blues willing to offer the forward considerably greater wages, according to the Daily Mail.

Zaha is keen to remain in London and is also desperate for another shot at one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, making Chelsea favourites to sign the player in the coming week.

Palace look set to lose Zaha this week handing them a huge blow given the forward’s vital importance in keeping the South London club in the Premier League last season.

He was directly involved in 14 goals for Palace last season with his form inspiring Roy Hodgson’s side to steer clear of the relegation zone following a record-breaking poor start to the campaign.

However, Chelsea are looking to swoop and with Zaha rejecting Palace’s contract offers to remain at the club, his time at Selhurst Park looks to be over for the second time.

Chelsea have already seen an offer worth £30m plus Danny Drinkwater rejected by Palace and are expected to return with another offer in the coming days.

Not joining Tottenham Hotspur

The Ivorian has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, however, according to Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge, Zaha will not be signing for Spurs this week.

Tottenham have been looking to sign a forward to provide additional competition for the club’s current group of attacking options.

The North London club have shown an interest in Manchester United Anthony Martial and could use the Red Devils’ interest in Toby Alderweirled to sign the 22-year-old.

Although, United are unwilling to sell the Frenchman to a Premier League rival making a deal seem very unlikely.
