Taiwo Awoniyi is delighted after Gent brushed aside Jagiellonia Bialystok to secure a Europa League playoff spot on Thursday evening.
The forward gave Yves Vanderhaeghe’s men an early lead in the game as they defeated the Polish side 3-1 to qualify for the next stage of the European competition qualifiers on 4-1 aggregate.
The 21-year-old who joined the Buffalos on loan in the summer after signing a long-term contract with Premier League side Liverpool is hopeful that the Ghelamco Arena outfit can nick a place in the group stage of the tournament.
“Two more steps closer, Europa league qualification,” Awoniyi posted on Instagram.
“Countless time have failed him but is mercy endureth forever.”
