Princeton senior Darius Bazley received his McDonald’s All-American Game jersey on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at a school ceremony. Bazley is one of 24 players to be selected to play in the game.

Darius Bazley, former Princeton High School standout and five-star recruit, failed to impress scouts from the National Basketball Association, according to a report from ESPN’s Jonathon Givony (insider subscription required).
Bazley, who de-committed from Syracuse University in order to enter the NBA G-League, is attempting to take a non-traditional route to the NBA.

I was never convinced Bazley was shaking up the system rather than just responding to his unique circumstances. This obviously doesn’t change that thought. Mitchell Robinson did the same thing just last year before the Knicks drafted him in the second round.
Maybe Bazley will still choose playing in the NBA’s minor league. He could develop there. But he’d also risk exposing his flaws and hurting his stock. On the other hand, maybe it’s too late and the cat is out of the bag.
