’50-50′ that Jerome Boateng joins PSG

Uli Hoeness, president of Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, has this evening revealed that Jerome Boateng could yet depart the club for Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Boateng’s Bayern exit links

Boateng, 29, has been on the books of Bayern since 2011, when he made the move back to Germany from Manchester City following just a solitary campaign at the Etihad.

And the German stopper has since gone on to enjoy a trophy-laden stint in Bavaria, establishing himself as one of world football’s most highly-regarded defenders en route to 6 Bundesliga titles, 3 German Cups and a Champions League crown at the Allianz Arena.

However, somewhat surprisingly, despite still being first-choice at the home of the German champions, Boateng has been heavily-linked with a Bayern exit this summer, having been made available for transfer for the right-price.

Manchester United and PSG have been the two sides most persistently-touted as potential destinations for the World Cup winner, with the latter having even been rumoured to have long-agreed personal terms with Boateng.

’50-50′

And, though PSG’s signing of highly-regarded Schalke youngster Thilo Kehrer was thought to have brought to an end the Ligue 1 giants’ chase of Boateng, Bayern president Uli Hoeness has this evening revealed that the German international could yet make the move to the Parc des Princes before the end of the month.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sport, Hoeness explained:

‘The chances of a transfer (for Boateng) are 50-50.’

‘Jerome told Karl-Heinz Rummenigge that he wants to move. If the player wants to leave and we have alternatives, then you have to deal with them.’

‘I think it’s Paris [Saint-Germain that are interested]. Loaning is only possible if there is an offer to buy next year.’

‘We’re happy if he stays, he’s a fantastic player.’
