LeBron James lands TV deal
LeBron James has landed a new deal with NBC for a TV show called “Hoops”.
The drama will be about a female basketball coach of a male college team.
It will be produced by James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment, Brownstone Productions and Warner Bros. Television, where SpringHill and Brownstone are housed.
It marks another move into TV this week as Ben Simmons takes part in SpringHill’s “Brotherly Love” single-camera comedy
Klay Thompson to the Lakers
Klay Thompson is not interested in joining the Los Angeles Lakers and wants to stay at the Golden State Warriors for life.
He was linked with a move to team up with James next summer when his contract runs down.
But he insists he’s happy where he is after winning back-to-back NBA Championships.
“I’ve said it many times before: I would like to be a Warrior for life,” Thompson told Bay Area News Group before hosting a party at Hotel Vitale as a prelude to his first annual Thompson Family Foundation Golf Tournament on Sunday at TPC Harding Park.
“Contract negotiations are way down the line.
“But I think we all have the same interest. I would love to be here for the rest of my career.”
Nicks ready to trade
The New York Knicks are set to move Joakim Noah on before training camp begins.
The Knicks want to trade the 33-year-old but could waive him if no one is interested.
Shams Charania tweeted: “Sources: The Knicks and center Joakim Noah are expected to part ways before training camp; team has continued to work trade calls, although waiving and stretching Noah’s contract looms as a route.”
Noah signed a four-year, $72 million contract with New York in 2016 but played in just seven games last season.
